Section 47 in The Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994
47. Election to be by proportional representation.
(1)Every election to any authority or body of the university under this Act shall be held by ballot in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote and as prescribed by the Statutes.(2)The other details relating to elections not specified in the Act shall be as prescribed by the Statutes.
