Section 21(9) in The Gujarat Value Added Tax Act, 2003
(9)The cancellation of a certificate of registration on an application of the dealer or other wise, shall not affect the liability of the dealer to pay the tax, penalty or interest due for any period prior to the date of cancellation whether such tax, penalty or interest is assessed before the date of cancellation but remains unpaid, or is assessed thereafter.
