(1)In calculating the day on which any prisoner is entitled to be released, the day on which the sentence is passed and the day on which the prisoner is released, respectively, shall be deemed to be days of imprisonment:Provided that if, in the case of any prisoner, two or more sentences are to be undergone otherwise than concurrently, no day shall be connect as a day of imprisonment in respect of more than one such sentence, and that a sentence of imprisonment for one day or for twenty-four hours shall be deemed to expire on the morning of the day following that on which the sentence was passed.
