(1)The Board may, by order published at such places as it may think fit set apart convenient wells, tanks, ports of rivers, streams, channels or, water-courses, not being private property, for the supply of water for drinking or for culinary purposes and may prohibit therein all bathing, washing of clothes and animals, or other acts calculated to pollute the water set apart for the purposes aforesaid;and may similarly set apart a sufficient number of the same for the purpose of bathing;and a sufficient number for washing animals and clothes or for any other purpose connected with the health, cleanliness or comfort of the inhabitants.
