Section 8(1) in Chakma Autonomous District Council (Village Councils) Act, 2002

(1)There shall be a President in each Village Council who shall be elected by the members of the Village Council from amongst themselves, by majority of votes. They shall, with the assistance of the Secretary of the Village Council discharge all the functions of the Village Council.
