(1)The Government may at any time require any municipal authority of a Municipality, or the Chief Officer of the Municipality, -(a)to produce any record, correspondence, plan or other documents in its possession or under his control;(b)to furnish any report, return, plan, estimate, statement, accounts or other statistics relating to the proceedings, duties or works of the municipality or any municipal authority,for the purpose of inspection and thereupon the municipal authority or the Chief Officer, as the case may be, shall comply with such requirement within such time, as may be specified by the Government for the purpose.
