1. The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the respondent be directed to grant the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) refund of ₹2,44,75,410/- for the tax period December, 2022, February 2023, March 2023 and May 2023 along with the interest.

2. A notice in the present petition was issued on 18.09.2023 and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent had sought time to take instructions and if necessary, file a counter-affidavit. A counter-affidavit has not been filed, however, a statement was made on 09.10.2023 that the petitioner's application for refund would be processed within a period of two weeks from that date. The said period has since elapsed, however, the petitioner's application has not been processed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent states that a further eight weeks' time would be required to process the application. The said request is clearly unreasonable and unacceptable.
