Section 8(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Crew Accommodation) Rules, 1960
(1)In every ship to which these rules apply the decks which form the floors in the crew accommodation shall be properly constructed and shall have a surface which provides a good foothold and is capable of being easily kept clean. The floor covering shall be impervious to water and, if the deck is situated on the top of an oil tank, impervious to oil.
