Section 5(8) in Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2016
(8)The pay of a member of the Service in the Super Time Scale, on promotion to the Higher Administrative Grade shall be fixed at Level 15of the Pay Matrix by granting one increment in the Level from which the member of service is promoted and the figure so arrived at will be located in the Level of the post to which promoted and if such an identical figure corresponds to any Cell in the applicable Level of the Pay Matrix, the same shall be the pay, and if no such Cell is available in the applicable Level, the pay shall be fixed at the immediate next higher Cell subjected to a minimum of Rs.182200/-and the pay in the Higher Administrative Grade shall not exceed Rs.224100/-, the maximum of the Level.
