(12)"Teachers" means professors, readers, lecturers and such other persons imparting instruction in the University, an affiliated college or [a recognized or approved institution] [These words were substituted for the words 'a recognized institution' by Gujarat 6 of 1973, section 3 (5).] as may be declared to be teachers by the Statutes;
