Section 657(o) in The Orissa Municipal Corporation Act, 2003
(o)for the control and supervision of slaughter-houses and of places used for skinning and cutting off carcasses, which will include, -(i)the control and supervision of the methods of slaughtering, and(ii)the control and supervision of butchers carrying on business in the city or at any slaughter houses outside the city provided or licensed by the Corporation;
