Section 41 in West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1953
41. Raiyat or under-tenant holding land free of rent.
In preparing or revising any record-of-rights under this Chapter, the Revenue Officer shall fix in respect of any land held free of rent by a person who holds such land free of rent in consideration of some service to be rendered, a rent determined on the basis of the rent paid by raiyats or non-agricultural tenants for lands of similar description and with similar advantages in the vicinity.
