Section 247(5) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964
(5)Sailors of the same branch [rank] [Substitued by S.R.O. 192, dated 10th September, 1973] on the same day shall rank and command according to the order in which they appear on the roster for [promotion] [Substitued by S.R.O. 361, dated 10th November, 1975]. Sailors of different branches, and sailors whose relative position has not already been determined by roster, shall rank and command according to the order in which they attained man's [rank] [Substitued by S.R.O. 192, dated 10th September, 1973]. Sailors who have been [reduced rank] [Substitued by S.R.O. 192, dated 10th September, 1973] and [re-promoted] [Substitued by S.R.O. 361, dated 10th November, 1975] will reckon their previous service in their present [rank] [Substitued by S.R.O. 192, dated 10th September, 1973] for purposes of rank and command.
