FACTS:
2. Appellant sought information regarding action taken on his complaint dated 26.4.2014 before the copyright board for infringement of his copyright and unauthorised making of film "Bhootnath Returns" based on his script "love in Darbun". The PIO asked him to visit website for information and transferred the RTI to Mr. Suresh Chand, CPIOCopyright Office. The appellant thereafter, approached Commission.
DECISION:
3. The CPIO stated that the copyright board has registered his copy right with regd No. L 5450/2013. If he has any complaint against the film maker, he is free to pursue civil/criminal cases as per the Copyright Act, 1957, which is available in public domain. He explained that it is not within the purview of the copyright board to entertain such complaints. Sufficient information was furnished, hence, closed.
