Section 5(xvii) in The Mizoram University Act, 2000
(xvii)to admit to its privileges colleges and institutions within the State of Mizoram not maintained by the University; to withdraw all or any of those privileges in accordance with such conditions as may be prescribed by the Statutes; to recognise, gu de, supervise, and control Halls not maintained by the University and other accommodation for students, and to withdraw any such recognition;
