Section 1 in The Insurance Regulatory And Development Authority (Protection Of Policy-Holders' Interests) Regulations, 2002
1. Short title and commencement
.-(1) These regulations may be called The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Protection of Policy-holders' Interests) Regulations, 2002.(2)They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette and shall apply to all contracts of insurance effected thereafter, except regulation 4(1) which shall come into force on 1st October, 2002.(3)These regulations are in addition to any other regulations made by the Authority, which may, inter alia , provide for protection of the interest of policy-holders.(4)These regulations apply to all insurers, insurance agents, insurance intermediaries and policy-holders.
