Section 3 in The Representation Of The People (Amendment) Act, 1996
3. Amendment of section 8. In the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951 ) hereafter in this Chapter referred to as the 1951-Act, in section 8, in sub- section 1,-(a) in clause (j), the word" or" shall be added at the end;
(b)after clause (j), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-" (k) section 2 (offence of insulting the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India) or section 3 (offence of preventing singing of National Anthem) of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 ;". (69 of 1971 ).
