SHRI R.P. MARUTHARAJAA (PERAMBALUR): First of all, I would like to thank the hon. Speaker for giving me an opportunity to place my request in this prestigious House on behalf of the people of my constituency, Perambalur. I humbly submit my profound thanks to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Dr. Puratchi Thalaivi Amma.
I have represented during ‘Zero Hour’ and also written several letters to the Ministry concerned for laying of a new railway track and starting a new train service between Ariyalur and Namakkal via Perambalur, Thuraiyur and Thattaiangarpettai in Tamil Nadu. However, there has been no response in the matter so far. I therefore once again request you to grant permission to conduct survey for new railway line and include this scheme in the coming Budget.
I would be glad if you could take necessary steps to consider this scheme, as this is a long cherished dream of the people of my constituency.
