19. Water rate leviable when well water and canal water are conveyed in the same channel.
- If well water is conveyed to any land in any channel used for conveying canal water, water rate shall be chargeable on the whole of the land irrigated from such channel :Provided that, if well water be taken for a part of the season owing to a deficiency in the supply of canal water and the applicant notifies the fact in writing to the Executive Engineer within eight days from the date on which he began taking well water and if it be shown to the satisfaction of the Executive Engineer that such deficiency existed, the rate on the portion irrigated by well water may, at the discretion of the Executive Engineer, be reduced to an amount which shall not be less than half the rate otherwise payable.
