Regarding New Categorisation Of Patients In Sree Chithra Thirunal Institute For ... on 3 December, 2019
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding new categorisation of patients in Sree Chithra Thirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology at Thiruvanathapuram.
KUMARI RAMYA HARIDAS (ALATHUR): Sir, I would like to share and point out here a serious and very important topic. I think, this matter will be solved with immediate effect because this is such an important issue.
Sir, Sree Chitra Tirunal Hospital is one of the pride landmarks of Central Government Institutions in Kerala. But the hospital authority has issued recently an order rescheduling the criteria to get free treatment under BPL category. They said that they implement this according to the guidelines of CAG. But I think these guidelines are not practical and suitable to find out BPL category in the State of Kerala. Such impractical conditions deny the treatment to a major section of the poor. Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute for Medical Science is the hope of people belonging to BPL and low-income groups in Kerala. People from different parts of Kerala depend upon this institute for the treatment of heart and neurological problems with advanced facilities of national level being available here. But with this rescheduling of guidelines, the poor are bothered about their treatment. I would request the Government to interfere in this matter immediately and clarify the guidelines to give free treatment to the poor and restore the goodwill of this institution.
