- The Commissioner of Police in the City of [Chennai] [Substituted for the word 'Madras' by the City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1996).] and the Superintendent of Police in a district may, by order at any time, call out in the prescribed manner any member of the Home Guard for training or for exercising the powers, discharging the duties and performing the functions assigned to the Home Guard by the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder.
