Section 9 in Siliguri Municipal Corporation Act, 1990
9. Terms of office of members of Mayor-in- Council.
- A member of the Mayor-in-Council other than the Mayor shall hold office from the date of his nomination to the Mayor-in-Council until-(a)he ceases to be a member of the Corporation, or(b)he resigns his office by writing under this hand addressed to the Mayor in which case the resignation shall take effect from the date of its acceptance, or(c)he is removed from office by a written order of the Mayor, or(d)the Mayor ceases to hold office, or(e)a newly elected Mayor in the event of the death of a Mayor enters upon his office.
