                                                           ORDER

The petitioner had applied for a passport and his application had to be closed on the basis that there are several criminal cases pending as against him.

The petitioner was informed about the file closure intimation as well.

2. However, he was granted liberty to apply for fresh passport with all documents as required and production of judgments in all cases in which he had been implicated along with requisite fees.

3. On written instructions Mr.TNC.Kaushik, learned counsel for the respondents would submit that there are eight (8) criminal cases that were filed as against the petitioner, of which he has been acquitted in two (2) cases and six (6) are pending trial.

4. A non-bailable warrant of arrest has been issued by Judicial Magistrate No.I, Erode in calendar case No.49 of 2021. In light of the aforesaid factual matrix, the challenge to the impugned communication fails.

5. As already stated by the respondent authority, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the authorities for issuance of fresh passport at the proper 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.35437 of 2019 juncture in time, producing all materials to their satisfaction, relatable to his application.

5. This writ petition is closed as above. No Costs.
