(1)Subject to availability of a permanent vacancy in the respective cadre, a member shall be placed, according to seniority, on probation against the permanent vacancy for a period of two years before he is confirmed against the permanent vacancy :Provided that the period of probation may for good and sufficient reasons by extended by the Appointing Authority for any specified period not exceeding a period of two years ;Provided further that the period of probation may be curtailed or dispensed with in any case for good and sufficient reasons by the Appointing Authority.
