- Government warehouses shall ordinarily be opened during office hours, but, when necessary, may be kept open longer. The hours of opening and closure shall be fixed by the District Collector, in consultation with the Superintendent of Excise and the Sub-divisional officer in respect of warehouses in a sub-division. Warehouses will be closed on Sundays and on public holidays as declared by Government from time to time under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (XXVI of 1881); provided that in case of urgent necessity the District Collector, the Sub-divisional officer or the Superintendent of Excise may direct that warehouse shall not be closed on any particular day.
