(1)An inland [mechanically propelled vessel] [Substituted by Act 35 of 1977, Section 5, for " steam-vessels" (w.e.f. 1.5.1978). ] shall not proceed on any voyage or be used for any service, unless it has a certificate of registration in force in respect thereof and granted under this Act.
