A government servant, returning from leave, is not entitled, in the absence of specific orders to that effect, to resume, as a matter of course, the post which he held before going on leave. He must report his return to duty and await orders.Note - In the absence of a definite order to the contrary, the order sanctioning leave for a period not exceeding four months, should be considered as sufficient authority to enable a government servant to resume his old duties on return from leave.
