Section 27(2) in Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act, 2010
(2)Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:-Ex officio members:(i)The Vice-Chancellor, Ex-officio Chairperson;(ii)The Directors of,(a)Academics and Research;(b)Entrepreneurship;(iii)The Director of Animal Husbandry, Government of Kerala or his nominee;(iv)The Director of Dairy Development Department or his nominee;(v)Deans of the constituent colleges;(vi)The Registrar, who shall be the Member-Secretary.Other members:(i)Not more than two Heads of the Department nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from each faculty on rotation basis;(ii)One person having special knowledge or practical experience in different aspects of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, from outside the University, nominated by the Vice- Chancellor;(iii)One eminent Educationist from outside the University nominated by the Chancellor;(iv)One member from among the staff of the research stations of the University nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(v)One Teacher from each faculty elected by the teachers from among themselves;(vi)One member elected themselves from among the postgraduate/research students elected in such manner as may be prescribed by the statutes.
