(1)If any inland [Mechanically Propelled Vessels] [Substituted by Act 35 of 1977, Section 5, for "steam-veseel" (w.e.f. 1.5.1978).] proceeds on a voyage in contravention of section 3 [or section 19A] [Inserted by Act 26 of 1951, Section 4.], the owner and the master of the [Mechanically Propelled Vessels] [Substituted by Act 35 of 1977, Section 5, for "steam-veseel" (w.e.f. 1.5.1978).] shall each be punishable with fine, which may extend to one thousand rupees.
