   Remarks

Item no. 7 The compliance report has been filed by the PCB. In this

15th May, compliance report the water sample report of 8 locations that are

2017. Sati, Sphatic Shila, Arogya Dham, Janki Kund Ghat, Pramod Van Ghat, Raghav Prayag Ghat, Paisuni Nalla, Ramghat have been filed. It is also submitted that the STP has been installed and constructed and the electricity connection has also been provided. It is however, submitted that since the operation of STP is dependent upon the collection of the sewage from the well on the Pasuni nallah in which at present there is hardely any collection the STP was not found operating.

We have considered the water analysis report which has been filed today and find that the water quality at all the locations except Ramghat appeared to be satisfactory as water quality of category A & B is mentioned in the reply, however, at Ramghat it is a matter of concern. Particularly, with reference to the coliform levels which are extremely high.

During the course of hearing also this issue was raised and considered and the reasons identified was primarily the flow of sewage directly from the houses and Aashrams along the banks of the river near Ramghat and adjoining areas. We direct that the Municipal Corporation shall take immediate action for diverting and channelizing this flow of sewage from the buildings to the Pasuni nallah or any other such nallah which can be collected and treated at the STP. All efforts must be made by the Municipalities of Chitrakoot to carry out the aforesaid task within a period of three months. In future no direct flow from the buildings around Ramghat should be allowed to reach the river Mandakini.

With the above directions the matter stands consigned to record.
