- Bengal Act 5 of 1871 (the Hooghly and Burdwan Drainage Act) shall be repealed on and from the date upon which this Act comes into force; but, subject to the provisions of this Act, this repeal shall not affect the past operation of such Act, or anything duly done or suffered, or any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accured or incurred thereunder.
