(2)The [State Government] [The words 'Provincial Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Adaptation Order of 1937 and the word 'State' was substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation Order of 1950] may, by notification, limit or define such control or may assume the administration of any public source of water-supply and public land adjacent and appertaining thereto after consulting the municipal council and giving due regard to its objections, if any.
