Section 63(7)(a) in Chhattisagrh Nagarpalika Nirvachan Niyam, 1994

(a)the voter may record his vote by making a mark (like √ or x ) anywhere in the space allotted to the candidate for whom he wants to vote. There is no particular mark required to be made; any mark can be accepted as valid so long as the intention of the voter to vote for a particular candidate is clear beyond any reasonable doubt and the identify of the voter is not disclosed by such mark.
