A government servant transferred from a post in which he drew a compensatory allowance to another post to which a compensatory allowance is also attached, may draw the allowance during joining time calculated where the rates differ in the two posts, at the lower rate only.Note - This rule does not apply to the drawal of conveyance or house allowance during joining time which is regulated by rules in Volume III of the Financial Handbook.Orders of the Governor regarding rule 197A government servant transferred from a post in which he drew a house rent allowance to another post in which he is provided with rent-free accommodation may continue to draw the house rent allowance for the period during which he continues to reside in his old station and actually incurs expenditure on house rent, during joining time.
