                             The   affidavit-in-opposition     on    behalf   of   the

                      respondent no.1 in response to the supplementary

affidavit of the petitioners is taken on record.

The issue raised by learned counsel for the petitioners at this stage is that the applications of the persons who are suffering from muscular dystrophy for issuance of UDID card are pending since long and the cards have not been issued.

Learned ASG has submitted that the cards will be issued by the competent authority of the Central Government to whom the applications have been made i.e., the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Hence, we direct the competent authority of the said department to consider the pending applications as mentioned in the present petition for issuance of UDID 2 cards in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from today and to issue the UDID those who are found eligible within the same period.

Learned counsel for the petitioners seeks a week's time to file affidavit-in-reply in response to the affidavit- in-opposition of the respondent no.1.

List on 5th April, 2022.
