(1)The Governor of the State of Gujarat shall by virtue of his office be the Chancellor of the University.(2)The Chancellor shall be the Head of the University and shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University.(3)Every proposal to confer an honorary' degree shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor.(4)The Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are conferred on him by or under this Act.
