Section 657(j) in The Orissa Municipal Corporation Act, 2003
(j)for the laying out of roads and for determining the information and plans to be submitted with applications for permission to layout roads; and for regulating the level and width of public roads and the height of building abutting thereon, which include, -(i)the regulation of the use of public roads and the closing thereof or parts thereof;(ii)the regulating of traffic in public roads, or their reservation for particular kinds of traffic, and(iii)the protection of avenues, tree, grass and other appurtenances of public roads and other places;
