Section 38 in THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986
38. The Statutes- Subject to the provisions of this Act,
the Statutes may provide for allor anyof the following matters,namely:-(1)The constitution, functions and powers of theauthoritiesof the University and such other bodies as may bedeclared to be authorities of the University from time to time;(2)The appointment, conditions of service, powers andduties of the officers, teachers and other employees of theUniversity;(3)The conferment of Honorary Degrees;(4)The award of degrees, diplomas, titles, certificatesand other academic distinctions;(5)The withdrawal of degrees, diplomas certificatesand other academic distinctions;(6)~ The institution of fellowships, scholarships,studentshlps, exhibitions, medals and prizes;(7)The procedure to be followed at meetings ofauthorities of the University including the quorum for thetransaction of business by them;(8)The classification of teachers of the University, andother employees;(9)Acceptance and management of bequests, donationsand endowments;(10)Constitution, jurisdiction and powers of the AppellateTribunal;(11)All other matters which by this Act are to be ormay be provided for by the Statutes.
