- No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie in respect of any act done in the exercise of any power conferred by this Act on the [State Government] [Words 'Provincial Government' first substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937, then again the word 'State' substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] or the Council [or any Committee of the Council] [Words inserted by Bengal Act 3 of 1928.] or the Registrar.
