(3)The Canal Officer shall report the occurrence to the nearest Medical or a Municipal or Sanitary Officer, and shall until the arrival of the officer or officers render every assistance in his power to subdue the out-break, by the distribution of medicines or disinfectants which he should obtain during epidemics and have in readiness with him for use in such emergencies.
