Section 3(7) in The Bengal Suppression Of Immoral Traffic Act, 1933
(7)"Superintendent of Police" includes any Assistant Superintendent of Police or other person appointed by general or special order of the [State Government] [Words 'Provincial Government' first substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order 1937, and thereafter the word 'State' substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] to perform all or any of the duties of a Superintendent of Police under this Act in any district.
