Section 35(1) in The Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976
(1)Every councillor other than an associate councillor, shall, before taking his seat, make and subscribe at a meeting of the Corporation an oath or affirmation according to the following form namely:-"I, A, B., having been elected [-] [Words 'Co-opted' omitted by Act 12 of 1994.] as councillor of the Municipal Corporation of --------------- do swear in the name of God solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter."
