Section 619(a) in Civil Court Rules of the High Court of Judicature at Patna

(a)When chalan have been so passed, he shall keep two copies and return the third copy with his receipt enfaced upon it.This receipt shall be produced in Court by the person paying the money, when it is necessary for him to have satisfaction entered upon the record of the case to which he is a party; or when it is necessary to have a sale confirmed or notices issued upon the landlord in cases of rent deposits, or upon the creditor in cases of debt due to a mortgage creditor and the like. The amount and the remaining two copies of the chalan retained by the Cashier shall be sent with the Pass-Book to the Treasury which shall forward one copy to the Judge-in-charge to be filed with the record of the case to which the person paying the money is a party.
