% 11.01.2021 This matter is being heard through video-conferencing.

1. This petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following prayers:

"a) To issue appropriate writ order or direction the Reviewing Authority (Board of Directors), Punjab National Bank (formerly known as United Bank of India) to pass Review Order on the Application dated 17.07.2020 filed by the Petitioner herein, seeking review of Order dated 23.03.2020 passed by the Appellate Authority;
b) Pass any other relief(s) as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts of the case."

2. On the last date of hearing an issue arose whether the Review can at the behest of the employee, that is the petitioner.

3. Mr.Rajesh Gautam, learned Advocate appearing for the respondent- Bnak, has filed a complilation of judgments which includes a judgment of this Court in the case of A. K. Jain v. Union Bank of India (2014) SSC Online Delhi 462 wherein the Court has interepreted the word 'otherwise' in Regulation-18 to mean a review at the behest of the petitioner/ employee as well.

4. If that be so, the petition is disposed of directing the respondent-Bank to consider the review petition filed by the petitioner on July 17, 2020 strictly in accorance with the parameters laid down by the Regulation-18 within eight weeks from today and communicate the decision to the petitioner who if aggrieved shall seek such remedy as available, in accordance with law.
