(2)Promotions from class to class should be determined by the Headmaster/ Principal, subject to revision by the District Education Officer, who alone has the power to grant a boy double promotion within one year. When making promotions regard should be had not only to the marks obtained at the annual examination, but also to those of the assessment of the record of work and progress of students at the school including the assessment of the routine exercise books, monthly tests and practical work and terminal examination. The progress of the pupil in co-curriculum activities, social service and physical culture should be considered.
