(1)Arms and ammunition deposited in a police-station or with a dealer and transferred to the district malkhana and the register maintained for the purpose shall be inspected periodically by the District Magistrate or other officer appointed by the State Government in this behalf in accordance with such procedure as may be prescribed by the State Government.
