Section 5(2) in Life Insurance Corporation of India Class III and Class IV Employees (Promotion) Rules, 1987
(2)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), the [Chief Executive] [Substituted 'Chairman' by Notification No. G.S.R. 477(E), dated 7.7.2021.] may direct that an employee who has excelled in any filed of sports or athletics at the national or international level or has received any national or international award in any cultural, literacy or, scientific activity may be promoted to the next higher cadre.
