Section 182(d) in The Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976
(d)formulate proposals as to-(i)the existing or future water supply requirements of the City;(ii)the existing or future sewage disposal requirements in the City including proposals for the manner in which and the place or places at which such sewage should be carried, treated and disposed of.
