Section 33 in The Merchant Shipping (Registration of Indian Ships) Rules, 1960
33. Change of Master.
- When the master having command of registered ship is changed, the owner shall give notice of the, change to the registrar at the port of registry or any other officer authorized by the Central Government in this behalf and produce to him the certificate of registry for endorsing the change. The endorsement shall specify the name of the new master, the date when the change was made and the number of the certificate of competency or service of new master.
