FACTS
The above cited appeals are heard today dated 12.11.2012. Appellant not present. CFTRI is represented by Shri M. S. Vidyanathan, Controller of Administration and Dr. M. C. Varadaraj, Chief Scientist (AA).
2. The above named officers submit that CFTRI had purchased certain equipment in the year 2000. Part equipment was installed and another part remains unutilised. On a complaint, the matter was enquired into by the CVO of CSIR who submitted his report to the CVC seeking first stage advice which is still awaited. It is their contention that the requested information cannot be disclosed in terms of section 8 (1) (h) of the RTI Act.
3. As noted above, the matter is pending with the CVC. Disclosure of any information at this stage would prejudice the case of the parties involved. Hence, I agree that no information can be disclosed at this stage. The appellant, however, will be at liberty to seek this information after the matter has been decided by the CVC. Hence, this matter is being closed at this stage.
